Who we are

Le Château du Creuset serves as a captivating historical landmark that offers a unique perspective on royal life. Once a Relais de Chasse in the 14th century, this magnificent estate has seen many transformations over the centuries, particularly during the tenure of notable figures. Among them was King Louis XVI, who is known to have enjoyed Le Creuset as a royal vacation home. His connection to this exquisite location adds an air of regality and prestige, highlighting its significance in the tapestry of French history.

The château underwent significant renovations in the 18th century under M. de Commeau, who elevated it into a grand castle adorned with distinct north and south towers, further enhancing its majestic appeal. The Bonnichon family, stewards of the estate from 1860 to 1984, witnessed the Château's occupation by the German SS during World War II, yet their dedication to post-war restoration preserved its historical essence.

In the following years, the Gremli family modernised the estate, and the Zuidema family briefly transformed it into a hotel, showcasing its versatility as a place of leisure and hospitality. In 2017, the Mitrovic family acquired the property as a holiday home, beginning a new cycle of restoration.

In 2024, the Letko-Parent family made Le Château du Creuset their family home and began the crucial task of full restoration and renovation, ensuring that the Château remained a testament to its glorious past.

Coming in 2026, and after extensive renovations, Le Château du Creuset will welcome weddings, retreats and full château rental offerings. For bookings in 2026, please check our availabilities.
